+ CANON 10-22mm f3.5-4.5 vs TOKINA 11-16mm f2.8 SHARPNESS TEST +

I did a sharpness comparison between two wide-angle lenses.
最近做了兩支廣角鏡銳利比較。

Left: CANON EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM
Right: TOKINA 11-16mm f/2.8
Basically TOKINA 11-16mm is a little bit taller and heavier.
基本上TOKINA 11-16mm 比較重也比較長一點點。

Here is the look with lens hood: CANON's hood is noticeable large.

The camera used for testing is CANON T1i (500D). Focus point was set at the center of frame. Here are the test images:
我使用CANON 500D測試，對焦點設定在正中間。接下來就是測試的影像：

Both lenses are sharp at their widest focal length. However TOKNIA 11-16mm seems less sharp at aperture f/3.5.

這兩支鏡頭都算很銳利。但TOKINA 11-16mm 似乎在光圈f3.5的時候，表現比CANON差一些些。

I think taking pictures of lotus is easy and also very difficult...
The easy part is you just need a long focal lens to take photos.
The difficult part is to find a perfect light, angle, and spot for a perfect composition. Since you cannot get close to lotus, you have to wander around the pond back and forth, up and down.

Like normal people, I took crispy clear pictures of lotus.
Somehow, I just felt something's missing...
until I recalled the "Water Lilies" by Claude Monet, one of the greatest impressionists. Suddenly, I realized photography is not all about shooting sharp pictures.

我像一般人一樣，拍荷花拍得清清楚楚的。
但總覺得少了點那荷花悠然的意境…
直到我想起了印象派大師莫內的「睡蓮」，一時之間，我明白攝影並不是只是照清楚的相片就好。

Here comes Spring tulips. 春之鬱金香


I love the simplicity of a tulip, such elegant posture a flower can be.
This is the first time I visited a tulip field and had a joyful, pleasant morning.
我喜歡鬱金香簡單的花形，可從來沒看過鬱金香花園。
這是我第一次在花園裡拍鬱金香。














This angle of view could produce a very interesting photo if everything is right. Anyway, this picture is just for reference.
